In the midst of the pandemic, one phrase echoed through the halls of government and public health circles: “Follow the Science!” Unfortunately, not all policymakers and public health officials heeded their own advice. Numerous major mandates were implemented without scientific evidence, causing harm in the process. These instances were not isolated to healthcare; there have been other examples of unscientific decision-making in recent years.
Furthermore, policies aimed at reducing carbon dioxide emissions are often costly and economically counterproductive. This demonstrates a troubling pattern of unscientific activity across various sectors with potentially serious consequences.
