For my most recent trip, I opted for an eight-hour red-eye flight on Norse Atlantic Airways, a new budget airline that offers nonstop flights from the US to destinations in Europe. Although I had never heard of the airline before, I decided to give it a try.
I booked an economy light ticket, which included a seat and space for a personal item, for a total of $88. Additionally, I paid $75 to select a window seat ahead of time and a $20 fee for airport check-in, bringing my total cost to $183.
As an experienced traveler, I typically appreciate domestic red-eye flights for the extra day they provide at my destination. However, this was my first international red-eye flight experience. To my surprise, the long overnight flight left me feeling exhausted at the beginning of my trip, making me question if the time saved was worth the fatigue.
Norse Atlantic Airways is a new airline that launched in 2022 and offers nonstop flights from the US to destinations in Germany, Norway, the UK, France, and Italy. Despite never having heard of the airline before, I decided to give it a try for this trip. Overall, while the price was affordable and the experience was unique, I may not choose Norse Atlantic Airways again due to its lack of comfort and limited amenities compared to other budget airlines.
