Fortnite Championship Series: four Peruvians among the finalists of Majors 2

The Peruvian athletes SMK Hazzense and SMK Magia Jr., from the e-sports team SmokeSolid Gaming, qualified for the Grand Finals of the US region and are one step away from the in-person world championship Fortnite Championship Series, after a close competition in which they managed to recover after being close to elimination.

On the first date, the Peruvians tied for 25th place in the Upper Bracket, but due to the difference in points, they were relegated to 26th place and transferred to the Lower Bracket, almost being eliminated. In this category, only 15 participants would advance to the Grand Finals.

With a surprising comeback, they reached 90 points and placed 14th, ensuring their classification. Now, 50 duos will compete in the region’s Grand Finals for three spots for the 2024 Fortnite Championship Series in-person world championship.

Previously, these 16-year-olds were in the TOP 5 of the first stage of Majors 2 in the US region.

REPLICA IN BRAZIL

SMK Hazzense and SMK Magia Jr. were not the only Peruvians who advanced to the main Fortnite tournament. SMK Gonzalo and SMK Myst, also from SmokeSolid Gaming, secured their place in the Grand Finals in the Brazil region. They finished in 17th place in the Upper Bracket category of that region’s Majors 2, 43 points above the last qualifying place.

From the beginning, the Peruvian players demonstrated their determination by staying in the Upper Bracket, now they compete among the best 50 duos in Majors 2 in Brazil to obtain a place in the Fortnite Championship Series In-person. This highlights the high level of Peruvian players in Fortnite, an important and growing esports title in the country.

Additionally, two other SmokeSolid Team members, SMK Tecne and SMK Randu, qualified in Argentina and now join the team.

There is still the opportunity to participate in Majors 3 in both regions, which grants additional spots to those looking to secure their place in the in-person world championship.
