Home Oxygen Company buys the DME division of Community Hospice & Health Services

Home Oxygen Company, a durable medical equipment provider, recently purchased the DME division of Community Hospice & Health Services in California. The deal closed on June 15, with undisclosed financial terms. This acquisition was significant as it marked one of the last hospice-owned DME companies in California, according to a press release sent to Hospice News.

Andrea Ewert, CEO of Home Oxygen Company, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve patients of Community Hospice & Health Care. The company has also moved its warehouse to a larger 10,000-square-foot distribution center to accommodate its growing business, specifically to serve the Sacramento and San Francisco areas.

California has the highest number of patients choosing hospice care in the United States, with nearly 156,000 individuals enrolling in 2021 according to the U.S. Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). Florida closely follows with over 154,000 hospice enrollees.
