223 kilograms of cocaine found in banana crates, valued at up to 15 million euros

In recent news, the Berlin-Brandenburg customs investigation office has reported a significant discovery of cocaine at Lidl stores. A total of 223 kilograms of cocaine were found in banana boxes across eleven Lidl branches. The estimated sales value of the cocaine is said to be between 10 to 15 million euros, with a price range of 50 to 80 euros per gram.

The discovery included 104 boxes in four Brandenburg branches, each containing one kilo of cocaine, as well as 119 boxes in seven Berlin branches, one of which had a sealed one kilo pack hidden among the bananas. The Brandenburg police spokesperson mentioned that the cocaine found was in the “low three-digit kilogram range” but did not disclose the exact locations of the branches where the cocaine was discovered.

While the customs investigation office spokesperson provided details on the cocaine discovery, the police in Brandenburg declined to give specific figures.
