Prairie Grit Adaptive Sports hosts Occupational Therapy Drive in July

Prairie Grit Adaptive Sports is a local organization in Minot, ND that offers adaptive sports and therapies for minors with disabilities. This summer, a three-month drive is being held by a local business to support the organization. In June, Aspire Credit Union collected food items for the organization’s feeding therapy program. This month, the focus is on collecting items used for occupational therapy, with a list available on Aspire’s website outlining the specific items needed.

Rianne Kuhn, the marketing and communications coordinator at Aspire, highlighted the importance of batteries as a key need for Prairie Grit. Many therapy equipment pieces require batteries, and the organization goes through a significant amount of AA and AAA batteries. In August, the drive will shift gears to collecting items for speech therapy, but food items are still being accepted for donation.

Both Aspire and Prairie Grit are accepting monetary donations to support their programs. This collaborative effort aims to provide essential resources for children with disabilities to receive the therapeutic support they need. Copyright 2024 KFYR. All rights reserved.
