On Monday afternoon, a body of a child was discovered in a meadow in the German state of Lower Saxony. The German police suspect that this discovery may be connected to the disappearance of Arian, a 6-year-old boy who went missing from his home at the end of April.
A farmer from Estorf made the grisly find while mowing around 4:30 p.m. However, the German police have not yet confirmed whether this body is indeed that of Arian. Detectives from the search team for the boy conducted a forensic investigation at the scene until late at night. The location where the body was found is approximately 4.5 kilometers from Arian’s home.
The body was sent to an institute for forensic medicine to confirm its identity, with results expected later in the week. Despite a large-scale search by emergency services following Arian’s disappearance on April 22, no results were found. Due to his autism, Arian did not speak or respond when called during the search effort which was conducted using a “silent” strategy to avoid scaring him off, including playing children’s songs and setting off fireworks in hopes he would be drawn to the sounds.
