Elmira, NY is home to some of the most impressive moments in local sports. The 18 Sports team has compiled and showcased the top plays from the previous week in the Twin Tiers region in their weekly series, The 18 Sports Plays of the Week.
This week’s edition features standout performances from softball and summer college baseball. One notable play comes from Nicole Moffe in a HGSA 18 and Up Division softball game, where she made an inning-ending play from the mound. In the PGCBL, Cooper Smith delivered a walk-off 2-RBI double to help the Elmira Pioneers secure a victory over Newark.
In the second half of the Plays of the Week, fans can catch towering home runs by Elmira graduate Jack Carozzoni and Horseheads graduate Matt Procopio against Dansville. Additionally, Procopio and Kyler Hickman combined for an impressive play that ended an inning in the same game.
