The return of the 2024 Charleston Sternwheel Regatta is bringing life and vitality back to the city, as Mayor Amy Goodwin describes it. Businesses like Fife Street Brewing are preparing for the event by tripling their inventory and ensuring their AC units are cranked up. John Query, general manager of Fife Street Brewing, shared that they are ready with plenty of beer for the crowds.
The Regatta was absent from Charleston summers since 2009 until its return in 2022. Goodwin highlighted the significance of the event, stating that managing expectations is crucial as its success depends on factors like weather. Anticipated attendance numbers are expected to exceed 200,000 people. Last year saw a $37 million return on investment, up from $31 million in 2022.
Fife Street Brewing’s General Manager John Query expressed gratitude towards both local customers and visitors who come to the city for events such as bike races and FestivALL during the summer season. These events contribute to driving sales for businesses like Fife Street Brewing.
The 2024 Charleston Sternwheel Regatta is scheduled to take place from July 3-7, bringing excitement and economic growth to the city once again.
